Got a server turning your apartment into a sauna? A NAS that has grown into a rack? A bargain enterprise box that sounded much quieter in the online listing? BunnyLab gives it somewhere else to live.
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
Rack servers are welcome. Towers are welcome. Old workstations
are welcome. Weird hardware is particularly unsurprising here.
I love old computers, strange electronics, ridiculous engineering projects and preserving hardware that would otherwise disappear. BunnyLab is the workshop and archive behind the things I build and show on my YouTube channel, Curious Computer. By hosting your server here, you are not just renting a little bit of electricity and floor space from me. You are directly helping me pay for the archive, keep the workshop alive, preserve more machines and continue making new projects and videos. So if you need somewhere for your server to live anyway, you can become a small part of the BunnyLab journey while getting the heat and fan noise out of your own home. PLANS & PRICES
Pricing is based mainly on power consumption, not just
rack height. That means old, bulky or unusual hardware does
not automatically become expensive simply because it is tall.
Every plan includes one Gigabit Ethernet connection, two power connections and reverse proxy service.
* Initial setup is CHF 30. The setup fee is waived with a 12-month contract.
WHAT DOES "POWER ALLOWANCE" MEAN?
Power is metered. The allowance is based on your machine's normal long-term consumption, not a tiny startup spike when every fan decides to demonstrate its full emotional range. WHICH PLAN IS FOR ME?
STARTER - CHF 59 / MONTH
For efficient little servers, routers, small NAS boxes and machines that simply need somewhere outside your home to live. Up to 3U and 70 W included.
HOMELAB - CHF 99 / MONTH
The middle ground for a typical efficient homelab server. Up to 3U with 120 W included.
200 W / FULL-SIZE - CHF 170 / MONTH
For proper enterprise servers, towers and bigger boxes. 200 W included and no rack-height limit.
NEED EVEN MORE?
Add another 200 W for CHF 40 per month. Large, unusual and gloriously unreasonable hardware can be discussed directly. SPACE IS CHEAP. ELECTRICITY IS NOT.
Traditional colocation is often priced heavily around rack
units. BunnyLab works a little differently.
A sleepy 3U storage server drawing 60 W is not three times harder to host than a 1U machine. Meanwhile a tiny box drawing several hundred watts absolutely does affect power and heat. So the smaller plans allow up to 3U, and from the 200 W plan onward there is no rack-height limit. Towers, unusual chassis and other odd hardware can also be accommodated where practical. GIGABIT ETHERNET
Every hosted machine includes one Gigabit Ethernet connection to the BunnyLab network. Additional physical Ethernet connections can be added if your hardware needs them.
TWO POWER CONNECTIONS INCLUDED
Dual-PSU server? No problem. Every plan includes two physical power connections. More can be added where required.
OPTIONAL UPS
The Swiss power grid is exceptionally stable and outages are rare, so not every homelab machine needs battery-backed power. If yours does, UPS capacity can be added to any plan.
REVERSE PROXY INCLUDED
Reverse proxy service is included with every plan. Separate public IP addresses are unfortunately not part of the normal service yet, mainly because of the limitations and pricing of the current Internet connection. For customers with special requirements and the necessary budget, a dedicated solution may be arranged.
PHYSICAL ACCESS
Need to swap a disk, install RAM or argue personally with an uncooperative RAID controller? Physical access can be arranged.
BEST-EFFORT REMOTE HANDS
I am roughly 20 minutes away. When I am available I can reboot a machine, check cables, read displays, move hardware or help with other simple physical jobs.
LOCKED PREMISES
The server room itself can be locked and sits behind multiple layers of locked doors and badge-controlled access. HOSTED IN SWITZERLAND
Your physical server stays in Switzerland, in the Bernese
Oberland.
Swiss law applies. Where personal data is processed, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / Datenschutzgesetz) applies where relevant. Customers remain responsible for the services and data they run on their machines and for meeting any legal or regulatory requirements that apply to their own use. BEST EFFORT, HUMAN SCALE
BunnyLab hosting is operated on a best-effort basis.
That means I make a reasonable effort to keep the network and infrastructure running, respond when something goes wrong and help with customer hardware where I reasonably can. This is particularly suited to homelabs, hobby projects, personal infrastructure, game servers, storage, development machines, experiments and smaller services where flexible hosting matters more than an enterprise SLA. There is currently no generator and no guaranteed 24/7 on-site technician. Managed backups and monitoring are not standard services, but special requirements can be discussed. BUNNYLAB COMPUTE CLUSTER
COMING SOON
BunnyLab is also building a large compute cluster intended for rented batch-processing and compute jobs. The cluster is not available to customers yet. Hardware details, supported workloads and pricing will appear once the service is actually operational. WANT YOUR SERVER OUT OF THE HOUSE?
